I've been saying this all along while everyone has been accusing her of releasing a last minute 1st single/desperate collaboration. We had rumors of her working with Rihanna LONG before CRTFY was actually released. It was around the time that she was still working on the original album (before she got pregnant) when we also started getting info about Truth Or Dare.
I'm glad this was proven true - she didn't just take a random demo from Magic! & throw it all together last minute + add Rihanna...this was already well planned out way before we got the final single release. This also means that she had this song recorded before Bruno Mars released 'Locked Out Of Heaven', so she didn't copy his song after all. This just makes CRTFY & the entire scrapped album/final album all that much more interesting. I'm starting to think that the original album was meant to be full of songs like Dare, CRTFY, Cut Me Deep, Chasing Shadows, YDCAM (a fusion of reggae, rock & EDM/dance) & after The Voice she decided to go in a more organic/acoustic/folk/country route for part of the album. Once again, Shakira was ahead of the curve (but of course, everything was delayed so by the time it was released it sounded dated - something that happens to her with almost every album). Everything makes more sense now.
