I read somewhere shakira played the role of Luisa maria in the soap el oasis in 1993-94 and I saw some pic of it but I don't know what happend to that soap??
Anybody ever seen that soap? have informations about That?

did you found out about that ....now?? i remember that in every interview....she had to give in america (when she was promoting laundry service) they would ask her about this soap opera....and actually i think she used to feel a little uncomfortable. i dont know the plot of el oasis....but in this interview.... we learn...something about this soap opera.... : (after 1:40)

No I read about this almos 1year ago and I saw a part of that and I know shakira said she was a bad actress but she had a lot of fun.
just I really wanted to have more informations and maybe see that soap and see Is she really an bad actress or not?

oh yes i want this too..... last year....i was trying to find some episodes....but i couldnt. Sorry i dont have any further information. i believe her though....that she is not a great actress....because 2 years ago...that she was a guest star on ""Wizards Of Waverly Place""........ she was really sweet....but nothing more.

I found some informations:

In San Isidro, the town of sharp differences, where things are black or white, where there is rain or sun, where the rich are rich and the poor are poor... two families: the RICOS and the PERDIGONS debate between love and hate. The two heads of the family: SEVERO RICO and MISAEL PERDIGON (PEDRO MOGOLLON), although they have different last names, they are twin brothers. Physically you could say that they are like two drops of water, but they are and they consider themselves different in every respect. SEVERO RICO, powerful landowner, is of bitter temperament, and like his name indicates, severe and implacable in the face of the deep love that his daughter LUISA MARIA (SHAKIRA) feels for SALOMON PERDIGON (PEDRO RENDON), son of his worst enemy. To finish this romance, SEVERO, counseled by his embittered wife AGRIPINA (MARIELA RIVAS), forces LUISA MARIA to marry ANTURIO (MAURO URQUIJO), he son of the mayor, although he knows that he is a vagrant, womanizer, scoundrel, and good for nothing. His very submissive sister-in-law TERESA (TITA DUARTE) opposes it unsuccessfully, since SEVERO doesn't count only on the support of his sister-in-law, but also on the support of BRIJIDA (XILENA AYCARDI), his older sister. In truth she does it, not for the well-being of her sister, but because she is lost in love with SALOMON. So the poor TERESA and LUISA MARIA only count on FAUSTINA (YOLANDA GARCIA), their old and faithful employee. MISAEL PERDIGON, on the contrary, is a good natured guy. He has a good sense of humor, although mixed with irony and sarcasm. He also furiously opposes his son SALOMON'S relationship with LUISA MARIA or with anyone with the last name RICO. He is the town's carpenter. He dedicated himself to that profession after his tepbrother stripped him of the family inheritance. e knows that SEVERO will never ever forgive him for having stolen the only woman that he has ever loved, MAGDALENA (MARIA MARGARITA GIRALDO), the one that today is his wife and mother of SALOMON

WOOOOOW !!!!!! i wish i could watch to some episodes!! i 'm sure i would laugh. actually here in greece we always used to have soap operas on tv....(from latin america) its a pity they didnt buy el oasis. i think...that in latin america....everybody has been part of a soap opera...at least...for a 10 minutes guest.

Hi and thank you .... agree with you...shakira's cry was so funny but almost 2month ago I saw a part of that soap opera and it seems good...if I find it again I'll post it.

She is really a terrible actress, I'm glad that she didn't played in Love in the Time of Cholera. XD

Shes talked about it on a LOT of shows, jonathan ross, jensen in 2005, Z100 (the funniest quotes are from that interview); heck she even talked about it in australia i remember! It went like this:

Australian Presenter: Now you were in a Colombian serial tv el oasis?
Shakira: El Oasis, yeah!
AP: Did you ever win the equivalent of a Logie (prestigious australian acting award) for your acting?
Shakira: No. I was a really bad terrible actress, so I don't think I really deserved that!
AP: I hear you wore rags for the whole show!
Shakira: I know cos we ran out of budget!

I like how Shakira is honest about how bad of an actress she is (her acting in ugly betty was awful - mainly her accent really makes it hard to understand waht she says and slows down th ewhole scene)
