she relied too much on she wolf being a mega hit. she thought with the song and sexy video it would sell massively. but it ended up gettin a lukewarm response and shak had no backup whicdh is why the messy giutm was the response

It was a hit in a way. Everyone was talking about it. But she had release it like a billion months before her album came out. Which up to this day I don't understand why/

she already has a video for DIA wouldn't like make financial sense to go for that as a single to safe money since the album didn't do as well? (for next US single)

I'd say the fact that she's singing Gypsy so often indicates that it won't be the next single. Cause it would get old very fast, she sang it on so many shows.
anyway I think we can't blame Gypsy if it doesnt give the album a second life, cause, really, it would take an extraordinary song to do the job that SW DIA and GIU2M couldnt do.

I would looove her spanish album to become a worldwide success, that would mean a lot, being more successful in spanish than in english.

That's ridiculous...how the Fu*ck did she forget about hispanics? She still gives interviews in Spanish, she still mentions her Colombian roots/upbringing, she is still dedicated heavily to her foundation that benefits hispanic/latin children in Latin America, she still performs songs in Spanish, she is still singing Hips Don't Lie which is an "ode to Colombia", she uses a Latin style clarinet breakdown on the worst song of her new album, Brazilian style drums, Caribbean marimba sounds...yeah she TOTALLY forgot about hispanics/latins, give me a break!

Do these people not realize she's releasing an entire English album that is mostly all English material now and that she is aiming to have a global impact with it (like LS)...so that makes no sense! She still has an entire Spanish album in the works, I want to see those same people saying that when she returns...OH WAIT...they will be saying she's only singing in Spanish now because she flopped in English...people will ALWAYS have something to complain about...tell them to get lost!

What I don't get is how she is trying "to conquer the world" and she forgets about an entire continent. I guess her world consists of Europe and North America

I don't blame you for not buying it until they release the full album there, especially since it was also delayed there. It's like they shipped the old cds they were going to sell in the US there. Lame.

Yeah, an occasional visit to Australia would be nice. And possibly Asia too. These markets are relatively untapped. I think consumers would be more receptive if Shakira showed some interest in actually visiting the places.

But I do think Shakira is doing a hell of job in terms of physical promotion. It's almost as if she's in a different country every single day and the events vary SO much.... radio show, TV show, Oxford speech, presidential summit, concert, etc.

Really, she's working a lot!

I don't think Shakira's team will give up on SW so easily. They'll find somehow a way to boost the sales. I don't think the Spanish album will come anytime soon unless SW as an album becomes a hit. Maybe we'll get another re-release.
