I wanna see it, but I'm not desperate. I thought it was going to be a big movie, with a big story and a big title, but so far it's just hype and might not even be as good as it seems. What does 'Cloverfield' even mean?

I SAW THE MOVIE! My friend is a manager at a theater and let a few of his closest friends in. It is Cloverfield afterall!! I saw it this morning.

Anyways, spoilers below, though it's more like a review.


The movie is overall ok. The plot is exactly what the trailer describes. A man is having a going away party and then a monster attacks the city and now they have to escape. As for the movie, well it's like the Blair-Witch Project in the sense that the story is told by a bunch of people with their cameras and in their perspective. The action shots and special effects are the best part of the movie, it's really intense. I even got a bit dizzy from it all. The thing that bothered me was the fact that this movie is another one of those movies that leaves you with a whole bunch of questions. There is no real story. We don't know where the monsters came from and the ending is so predictable. I don't want to ruin the ending of the movie unless you want me to.

There is also another untitled movie that is coming out, I think from the same guy who made Cloverfield. The trailer is attached to the movie, it takes place in space and shows spaceships being built.

That's the new Star Trek movie! From the teaser, it seems like it's going to piss off a lot of Trekkies... because they're making it look like the USS Enterprise was the first spaceship, which it sooooo wasn't.
Anyway, it should be cool. It centers on the Kirk/Spock crew. If you watch "Heroes," the guy who plays Sylar is Spock in this movie.

Why? that shit's awesome. The Japanese love portraying a post apocalyptic Tokyo, it's cool that- that trend seems to be catching on in the US.

It's good that this thread killed the story.. I was in so much suspense by the commercial! I'd never pay to see that movie... so this was the only way for me to find out what the hell was going on in that movie.
