This arena is going to be a challenge to sellout. This is her first time there and this venue is HUGE!

Shakira

Hot on the heels of her captivating Glastonbury and World Cup performances, Shakira has announced she will make her M.E.N Arena debut this Christmas.

Tickets for her Tuesday 14 December show go on sale 9.00am Friday 9 July, priced from £40.00.

Performing at the Manchester venue for the first time ever, the South American singer-songwriter will be showcasing tracks from her collection of smash hits including She Wolf, Waka Waka, Hips Don't Lie and 2001's breakthrough single Whenever, Wherever.

One of the most exciting and successful female artists in recent history - with over 200 global award nominations and more than 50 million albums sold worldwide - Shakira is also the founder and President of the Barefoot Foundation (Pies Descalzos), a founding member of the ALAS Foundation and an ambassador for 1GOAL and UNICEF.

Shakira will perform Waka Waka (This Time For Africa) at the 2010 World Cup closing ceremony on July 11.

She Wolf, Shakira's third English language album, is out now.

That looks like a generic seating chat. I highly doubt they are going to change the stage for Europe.

When the tickets go on sale if there's an option for standing, then will there definately be standing?

Dunno, the Shakira seating chat would have a catwalk on it. So, who knows if that seating chart is right. I guess you'll know when tickets go on sale. Shakira's people need to update those seating charts!

Anyone knows how sales are going?

Ticketmaster search results:

£45.80 soldout

UPPER TIER ... soldout
£45.80 - £51.50
£45.80 (£40.00 Ticket + £5.80 Fees) soldout
£51.50 (£45.00 Ticket + £6.50 Fees) soldout

LOWER TIER ... tickets available
£51.50
£51.50 (£45.00 Ticket + £6.50 Fees)

FLOOR ... tickets available
£45.80

When I did the search for the best tickets I got:

Section BL 105
Row U
Seats 8 - 15
Description Price Level 1 LOWER TIER ...

So, sales look good. The top section is sold-out and only the back of the lower tier is available. After Row U is only row V, so that arena is close to being sold-out.

I really hope this concert:

1) Has a cat walk
2) Hasn't got many VIP tickets as so there will be no room for anyone else to get to the front

I'd love it if she sold this venue out! On her previous tours she has only ever been to London and from what I've read both times she performed there she sold out!

Aww. I'm sure you'll see her again soon :) .

Is anyone able to find out how well this event is selling? I've tried buying upper tier seats but they appear to be unavailable. I don't understand why those ones sell out first when they're right at the back?
