What the hell is all this?

What perfect is for one person can be flawed for another, it's like calling something pretty while another thinks it's ugly.

Anyway im still kinda mad at her for being back in Barca already, the gp is completely unaware of the fact that there's album coming.

Performing at BBMA's could have helped a lot

Perfection can not be based on a person's standard.By your interpretation then everyone is perfect even people with very low standards. Every song on the radio Now is perfect, every singer from kesha to Justin Bieber is Perfect because given their situation and being single they found their current songs perfect. Let me not hear you call any song playing on the radio Now a generic junk ,because they are all perfect.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My personal standards doesn't apply to everyones. If I find Me Enamore perfect, that doesn't make it perfect, but with my standards I may find it so. Therefore, I can call a song on the radio complete ass if I believe it is because according to my standards it is, despite someone else standards. What made you think that someone's personal standards applies to everyone?

First off...... Nothing is perfect
Secondly..... For something to even be considered remotely close to perfection, a lot of people will need to think so as well. If perfect and perfectionism are limited to a solo individual thoughts or perception, then the word should be scrapped from the dictionary.

This is a perfect mess

Why did she skip every possible award show performance? Lol.

I thought she had some type of smart strategy for her album launch or eventual promotion of a single, but she doesn't.

I could be wrong but I feel like with award shows the artists and their teams have got to book performances in advanced. Shakira probably didn't know when she was going to release the album and didn't have enough time to book shows. Hopefully she will do some more later ones. I was gonna suggest the MTV Europe Awards but is all the way in November.

On the Beats1 show thing she played Me Enamore and she talked about how at first she was scared of going back to the studio and then decided to just have fun and do music she knew how to do. I think she is done with pursuing music relevancy and now she is just doing it for fun/hobby. She has done everything, now her kids are priority.

She could have performed at the Billboard Latin Music Awards last month. She had 9 nominations and didn't even attend. Surely, they would have made room for her.

This is all strange.

This is what we all should do.

I'm trying but sometimes I get excited and think she will deliver and boom disappointment. So the best way is zero expectations.

So sad that's she's the only mainstream female artists that manages to score hot nowadays. But I'm glad to see Me Enamoré rising more.

Do we really have to make this a gender thing?
Since feminism became a thing, we don't do the male female thing no more, now everyone is graded according to individual efforts, especially something like music where everyone has almost equal chances of scoring hits. SMH.

lol. You stay knowing nothing about pretty much everything else. I'm not even going to bother, I'm just going to say that Shakira being the only female artist who manages to chart in the Latin scene speaks of a bigger problem that has been getting worse with the prevalence of reggeaton. But you obviously are clueless about all topics ever brought up in this forum so I'll leave you to that.

To add to what Roxn said, Me Enamoré also managed to get into the Hot 100! Not bad at all.

Sweetie the dumb One here is you.If the Latin females can come up with catchy beats that can rival the males, they'd be charting too. Reggeaton ain't the reason they ain't charting, they are simply not charting because of the kind of music they make.
And yes I know enamore is nu 100 ,I saw the billboard hot 100 too.

Well Shakira is the only Latin Female on the Top of the charts.

Thalia couldn't make it even with Maluma, Paulina Rubio couldn't either. Both of them came with Latin rhythm.

Let's wait for Jlo and her performance on the Latin charts

I think the chart formula is part of the problem. It's biased towards Spotify and therefore favours upbeat songs. The Hot 100 formula has a similar problem imo.

You wouldn't know Latin music if it hit you in the head. You didn't even know Daddy Yankee was successful, so you can leave these conversations to your elders. You barely know Shakira's career and you're in a Shakira forum, so that should tell you everything.

@Red Hot Moon: not exactly, like Ronx mentioned, even Thalia and Paulina tried it with reggeaton songs and they didn't make it. Shakira has an easier time because she's global, but even so it's been hard for her too. The problem is that only new reggeaton acts are breaking in the scene, and veterans are struggling. Women were either pop acts or balladists so they're not getting much play lately, and the ones who normally would are getting older now. It's sad.
