some of the videos are on youtube with the mtv logo in the corner. But it's super hard to find them. Few years I was searching through the whole youtube to download them and make audio, because it's not edited.

I haven't seen them recently. The day I posted asking about it I looked for like an hour, and all the ones I found were rips from the DVD. I remember seeing them a few years ago, and like an idiot I didn't download them...

Does anyone have the actual lyrics to Whenever Wherever?

The 2nd chorus all these lyrics sites say she sings "You'll never have to wonder", but it's not.

She sings something like "A rafta boofta munder". Is it Spanish?

hahahahahahahaha dead.

It's obvious in hindsight, but her enunciation back then was terrible sometimes. The fact she still sings it like that is probably more because of habit.

^ it took me 12 years or so to finally know what she sings there as well! Especially since she only sings that in the chorus's in the live performances since 2005 instead of "you'll never have to wonder". It bothers me that the official booklet has that mistake in it. It does make the song that much better for me, each chorus of the song has a difference, thats's where Suerte lacks creativity imo and the chorus is way too repetetive there.

So the other day I ended up crashing the Apple store in L.A. & plugged a Shakira Youtube video playlist as I was apparently testing out a Mac pro book. I had the volume all the way up and it was very busy in the store, I was in there for about an hour, it was really cool playing, & singing & dancing along to my favorite Shakira jams inside the Apple store! The audio and display quality on the Mac book Pro was absolutely beautiful .... heres is a summery of the videos I played at full volume

Chantaje

Suerte

Last night I dreamt that I was waking up, I held my phone, and there was a tweet of hers announcing the dates of the Tour, one of them in my city for September 1st.

Sadly, when I finally woke up,I checked my phone and nothing of that was real :( It was so cruel...

Do someone have the remix of The One that appears on the video? I've been looking for it for ages and all I found is in poor quality.

She Wolf is such an underrated album.

Of course it is. With a few more songs to help blend the tracklist better (Mon amour sticks out too much), it could have even been her best album, or at least second to DELL.

The song itself was underrated too. I still remember it being on MTV Hits all the time. Celebrities or fans could pick their favorite video, and She Wolf would be chosen all the time.

It was one of those songs that everyone seemed to like, but never got as popular as it should have.

Idk about second best album... but it has its own theme just like the other albums... (still not so happy with Shakira. I don't even know all the songs from that one) like it's a bit absurd to compare it to the other albums simply because the whole artistic 'orientation' is different. I also see that I was wrong in slut shaming back when the video for she wolf/loba came out. The only resentment I have left with this kinda thing is: 1. how the record companies are milking the sex sells concept 2. Shakira does not give us ANY extras, like demos once in a while, or exclusive songs etc. And lately she seems a lot more distant from her fans than ever before. I don't think this is a good thing, not necessarily because she owes us anything but as fans we used to feel rather close to her, if that makes sense. Anyways this was maybe a bit off topic but I agree on the point about the video too.

It's never off-topic in the random thoughts thread, that's why I made it ;)

The sex sells thing being a negative is something that I mostly felt with Rabiosa and CRTFY.

She Wolf, like most of her earlier crossover hits at least some artistic direction to go along with the sex appeal (e.g. Whenever Wherever was pretty much belly dancing).

But Rabiosa was her wearing nothing but lingerie and doing generic pole dancing? CRTFY has her and Rihanna touching each other's thighs and faces? Those two were straight up tacky.

^ What do those have to do with Move Your Body? Neither sound anything like MYB and I doubt their videos had any sort of influence on Sia writing it.

Sia's song was (like most of the songs on This Is Acting) stereotyping Shakira as some sort of artist that only does exotic dance tracks (Whenever, Wherever, HDL, La Tortura, etc.). It sort of makes sense because she did songs that she thought would appeal to the artists she wrote them for. I'm kind of glad Shakira rejected it too (although I don't think the song is bad).
