I decided to create this thread in order to avoid too much derail in the other threads. So if you have any thoughts, questions, words, opinion, just post them here.

Of course, if this thread is unnecessary, a mod can lock it.

Laundry Service is such a great album, starting to become my new favorite over MTV Unplugged and DELL.

there should be a thread that we come to just to yell at each other.  that i'd sign up for.

dell has the most songs for me that stand the test of time.

^ Agreed. Other than Ojos Asi, DELL sounds dated. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, but you can tell it's from the late 90's for the most part (same with PD).

PD sounds a little dated, DELL stands the test of time to me. Along with LS to an extent.

I can barely listen to LS anymore because too many of the songs sound waaaay too dated to me (The One, Ready For The Good Times, Fool, Rules). I don't know.

Yeah, I have to prop up a 2000's theme every time I feel like listening to Laundry Service. The album's dated as hell.

I used to listen to Shakira almost eveyday until 3 years ago. It was crazy. I still listen to her a lot but not as often.

I think She Wolf sucks balls and so does Sale el Sol. So yeah I still listen to Oral Fixation 1 n 2 and LS. BUt I'm pretty much sick of them too.

Never listen to DELL, never listen to PD.

I always listen to Shakira, at least a pair of songs, specially from SW/SES 'cause is her latest material.

I'm searching a cool Whenever Wherever and Suerte performance from LS era, any opinions? It would help me.

I also listen Shakira's songs almost everyday. I must be crazy LOL

Currently I often listen Oral Fixation vol2, but everything depends on my mood.

Some songs of Shakira are great and they make history. Whenever is one of them , it's catchy as hell and people still like it, you can listen this song 10000 times over and over again.

I don't think Laundry Service sounds too dated. Some of Pies Descalzos and Donde estan los ladrones songs are dated, some are still good to listen. Si te vas never gets old. I believe many Shakira's songs are beautiful, universal and timeless.

Almost all of Shak performances in Europe are lip synced. If you wanna watch live performance you should check some US performance. As far as I know a lot of Suerte performances are also from playback.

By the way....

Did you hear Suerte cover made by India Martinez? What do you think of it?

It seems as if Shakira is ashamed of her past? She doesn't want her first two albums to be re-released, and her show "El Oasis" was bought by her so that no one else could buy it and show it or something Iike that I think. She even mentions that she doesn't like watching her performances.

Is she ashamed of herself?

She probably didn't think Magia & Peligro represented her musical proposal after she broke through with Pies Descalzos & DELL.

As far as El Oasis, she has repeatedly said that she doesn't consider herself a good actress so it's not surprising that she didn't want the novela to be aired...but her buying the rights to it is an unconfirmed rumor I think.

Also, she does watch her performances...she is actually really critical of herself when it comes to her performances/image as you can see on the L&OTR documentary...she is involved with all aspects of her live shows (sound, lighting, positioning, camera angles, etc.) so she does go back & watches herself and criticizes her own performances and where she could improve (also evident on the Being: Shakira show from VH1).

I don't think she's ashamed of anything...she probably felt/feels that the first 2 albums didn't represented her artistry in the way she wanted them to...she became a lot more involved beginning with Pies Descalzos.

Still, I think they should be released and included officially in her repertoire. I personally hate it when people refer to her upcoming album as her eighth because it's actually her tenth album not her eighth. Silly, I know, but one of my major pet peeves with Shak's discography. :P

You guys would actually listen to Magia and Peligro? I wouldn't even bother, I'm surprised that people want to listen to them/have them on their computer (??? perhaps to be complete but still), tbh.
