The show is barely a month old, and already, minus what's supposed to happen during Whenever, Wherever and Waka Waka, there have been THREE incidents of fans coming on stage during the concerts.

First was in Houston, during the finale (4:00 in):

Then San Diego, at the end of Whenever, Wherever (the person even fell):

And then in Las Vegas (10 seconds in):

Note that every time, Shakira has acted very loving towards the people. However, isn't it a bit alarming just how many people have come on stage during the show in so little time? I can only recall this happening once during the Oral Fixation Tour (1:22):

Security seems to be ready for them during this tour. The OF tour incident lasted a very long time. I guess the catwalk makes people want to jump on stage. They feel so close that they want to get even closer. They think I'm so close, I'm one jump away from touching her... and before they know it they have a crazy moment.

It goes to show how intimate the catwalk feels to the fans. The catwalk makes a lot of fans feel like they are in the middle of the show, which is always a plus.

A plus for the fans, clearly a danger for Shakira. Heck, at San Antonio, someone was throwing flower petals up in the air during Ojos Asi's dancing break (starts at 5:34):

Sure, it's just flower petals, but it could have been something else.

She's vulnerable up there, and quite frankly, with the entire world still ahead of her and so much happening just in one leg, I don't know if she's going to want to use a catwalk again on another tour.

Jeez... I'm shocked... How can this happen? What if.... there are many what ifs... I think is not safe for Shakira and there are many crazy people in the world (I never got over that fan who sent a bomb to Bjork...). I hope security pays more attention to this.

pd: How selfish are those people jumping on the stage... they might stop the show for thousands of people.

Hahahaah at the one where the girl fell. Lol. I wonder what Shaki thought. I wonder what happens to them? This is crazy. As much as i'd love to do something like this. Honestly, i don't want to risk anything. Like being kicked out, or charged with something. Idk.

Well, they can improve the barricade and add more security around the catwalk. They have time to make those upgrades before the Latin American leg of the tour.

The same problem happened during TOTM. The tour started in the US and fans often ran on stage via both of the side catwalks. But, they quickly fixed the problem by not selling tickets near the catwalks and adding more security around the catwalks.

Posted Image

Its going to suck for the fans because they are likely going to make the gap between fans and the catwalk much bigger in Latin America. Right now the fans are RIGHT next to the catwalk, which must feel amazing for those lucky fans.

I dunno, I went to opening night in San Diego. That night I saw a fan run on stage via the side catwalk. Then again, I saw TOTM in San Diego, Anaheim and LA, so I'm not sure which night it was :shakifanatica54: I think it happened on opening night, though.

I saw it happen live in Houston. I didn't realize how often it's been happening. My favorite was when Shaki didn't stop singing during ADLS, just moved the microphone back a couple of steps. That made me laugh.

Yeah I was their, and it was at San Diego opening night of the tour itself. I just can' t exactly remember what song it was now that I think of it. Maybe? UYC? Looking at the stage, right side sm. catwalk, A girl jumped up onto stage or under the bars. She ran over to Shakira, put her arm around Shakira's waist., I want to say she was at Shakira's side while doing that. Then Shakira looked at her almost as if to say Well? And even pointed mic to her cuz I think she was still singing and maybe guessing , Ok so do you want to sing, cuz the Dumb girl wasn't doing anything but holding onto her. I don't even think she said a single word to Shakira just holding onto her waist and staring at her  . Anyways Tim finally came over and escorted her to the back of the stage til security took over from their and led her to the backest part of the stage. Looked like she got escorted out. NOw that part I'm just guessing at.

I thought it was fun until I saw the one during Antes de las seis, I'd be really pissed if I was watching her and someone ruined the song... but I doubt we need to worry... it's probably a marketing strategy so journalists see it and write "and Shakira and her show are so impressive that fans go crazy and jump on stage"... the gaps between Shakira and fans in Latin America have been huge forever, so nothing to worry about... In Chile, I was on front row, but it was equivalent to the 8th row in the same show in London... that much of a gap, with the stupid security guys walking and standing in that huge gap and looking at you being... well, a crazy fan singing along to Underneath Your clothes haha.

:shakifanatica54:

Sounds like she was up there for a while! Slow security, especially if Tim had to come to the rescue! At least this time around they've sped up a bit. The timing of the guard in the Vegas video is incredible.

EDIT:

it's probably a marketing strategy so journalists see it and write "and Shakira and her show are so impressive that fans go crazy and jump on stage"...
