It's music for in an elevator in a basic mall. It's made for the commercial and in no way can be a Shakira song ew

Anna Kaiser said she loved it in the comments. I don't think she'd randomly comment on a commercial song for her client Shakira if it didn't mean something.

Ugh... shakira has given me so much with her music... but has also angered me with her recent efforts.

Eveytime I listen to other great songs, I'm always thinking of how Shakira at her peak used to easily clear out songs like this constantly.

If I listen to a song like "She's a Mystery To Me" by Roy Orbison, I fall in love with the sort of soulful, soft rock vibe and overall instrumentation and the poetic lyrics and Roy Orbison's haunting, yodeling, vibrating voice that sounds like an instrument... and then I realize that Shakira used to effortlessly make songs like that like with Te Necessito and Antologia.

Now it feels like Shakira has just given up and decided to use simpler beats, and the same predictable deep Shakira voice. Nothing unique or song specific anymore.

I think she has intentionally toned down her vocal tricks.
If i recall correctly, she talked about that in an interview few years ago

She has much better control of her voice now. Her singing improved after being on The Voice

Voices change! Remember she recorded Pies Descalzos in 1995! That's 24 years ago. Also I think her vocals in PD in general were unpolished, she improved a lot in DELL imo

Also I definitely feel like she uses her higher register a lot more than she used to now - look at Clandestino or Toneladas. I actually think she should use her deeper voice a bit more

Okay really awkward timing given the subject matter, but in Shakira's comments about the Venezuela/Colombia crisis, she has brown hair.

I know it's awkward timing but I'm just trying to keep things active

Anyone recognize the song playing in the background? It at times sounds like her but other times that doesn't.

I like how in that interview Shakira said that Antología is one of her favorite songs to perform. I was a bit shocked she said that because the song belongs to an era of her in which only her true fans know. Also the fact that the song is extremely personal and sentimental towards her first love, adds some bitter sweetness to it. It’s like she is very perfectly aware of how deep and strong her old songs used to be, and how many of her fans still love and listen to all those precious jewels. I know I do.

This is a bit random but can you guys believe that Antología - Live from the OFT is the most viewed Shakira live performance? Its very close to reaching 100M views and for being a ballad, it beats all of her dancing and upbeat live performances. Her best ballad for sure!

I love that performance! The vocals, the emotion and the lyrics just all come together. I was never a huge fan of Antología until that tour. The studio version sounds cheaper and dated.

I also remember seeing it live back then. Not that exact performance but one of the OFT performances. I was with a friend who is not really into Shakira and I was shocked when she asked me what that ballad was called a week later. She doesnt speak any Spanish, either.

Exactly! Its her best performance of antológia, it felt so emotional and so personal during that tour, almost as if she had just written it (even though back then the song was becoming an oldie).

My top five of Shakira, in no order, are:

Antológia
Sale el sol
Que me quedes tu
Inevitable
No
Tu

It's also because there's no official video, if ppl want to hear it they have to watch that particular video. Most of her other videos have multiple versions like the official music video or lyric video or multiple live performances for example.
